SAA is offering a total of three travel scholarships of 750€ (within-continent travel) and three travel scholarships 1500€ (across continent travel) each for active participation in the SAA Conference 2026.

 

Requirements for Application

Individuals may apply who

1. Are an active SAA Early Career Member in 2026 and
2. Are currently in an undergraduate, graduate, or pre-doctoral training program and
3. Are presenting a symposium, talk, or poster at the SAA 2026 conference in Vienna

Previous recipients of SAA travel awards cannot apply.

Individuals from low- and middle-income countries as well as individuals from backgrounds that are underrepresented in academia are particularly encouraged to apply. Therefore, if you identify as coming from an underrepresented background, in a broad sense of the term (race, ethnicity, country, gender minority, sexual minority, ability, first generation college/university student, etc.), please indicate this in your application.

 

Decision and Notification

In case the number of applications exceeds the number of available travel scholarships, the Executive Committee of SAA will select the recipients of the scholarships among the applicants based on the submitted abstracts, given additional weight to membership of an underrepresented group. All applicants will be informed about the decision by May 1^st, 2026.
